Ringing
the bells of St Saviour's Church
The ringers continue to flourish! We have managed to maintain a regular Sunday morning ringing and practise on Wednesday Evenings.
We now have two well established young ringers, Ali and Josh Wright, who have proved to be a great asset. We have other ringers too and hope to be able to encourage more young people to join us as they reach secondary school age.
We have maintained continued good relations with our colleagues at Swainswick, and had a very enjoyable outing with them to the Cotswolds in the Autumn, visiting churches where Robin Winn, our organ builder, looks after the organs. Visiting other churches is one of the delights of ringing, including, of course, the compulsory pub lunch. We welcome non-ringers on these occasions too. Work on the mechanism to silence the clock at night is well in hand, and so we hope to have the clock striking again very soon.
We are always happy to welcome new members, please come and join
us at
practice night, we guarantee an interesting and enjoyable time!
