Home groups are small groups for adults meeting in church member’s homes. They are a great opportunity to help get to know other people in the church. They are informal, friendly and welcoming to all. Their aim is to help us mature in our faith, get the know the Bible better and grow closer to God. There, we give and receive encouragement and support each other through the joys and difficulties of life. We do this through fellowship, study, talking, listening and praying. We may study a book of the Bible or do a Christian course e.g. Freedom in Christ and Fruitfulness on the Frontline.
The evening groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays start at 8 p.m. and finish between 9.30 p.m. and 10 p.m. The daytime group on Mondays runs from 2 – 3.30 p.m. Most of the groups are in Larkhall, and lifts can usually given for people with difficulty getting there. The groups are led by various church members and overseen by a Reader.
The format of the meeting usually includes refreshments and welcome, study time with group discussion and sharing of opinions, ideas and reflections on the theme and how to apply them in life. Sometimes we split into pairs or threes to talk, have a time of prayer and include a short time of worship. The venues and leaders’ details are found in the Sunday service notice sheet. If you are interested in joining a home group, contact the home group leader or the Rector.
