Living Statues Workshop, Sat 8 Nov, 10am - 6pm

Step into the story—literally! In this playful and powerful workshop, you’ll discover how to bring Bible scenes to life by becoming a Living Statue. No lines to learn, no acting experience needed—just your imagination, a lot of body language, and a willingness to have a go!

You’ll work with others to create frozen moments from Scripture—like snapshots in time—using posture, facial expression, and space to tell the story. It’s creative, hands-on, and often surprisingly impactful.

All sessions are led by Birte Papenhausen* (Netherlands) and our Rachel Leigh-Wood (trainee teacher), and take place at St Saviour’s.

What to expect:

  • Still as stone – Once we’ve decided on our pose, we freeze!

  • Silent storytelling – Say everything without saying a word.

  • Creative freedom – You decide how to show emotion and action.

  • No pressure – It’s all about exploring, not performing.
